Description

Xcept tablet uses:

Xcept 15mg tablet helps prevent blood clots in surgeries, treats clot-related conditions like deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism and reduces stroke risk in heart patients. It stops harmful blood clots from forming, guarding against serious complications like lung or heart damage.

• Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in Elective Hip or Knee Replacement Surgery:
• After hip or knee replacement surgery, there’s a risk of blood clots forming in the veins, which can lead to serious complications like pulmonary embolism. It helps to prevent these clots from forming, reducing the risk of VTE.
• Treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT):
• DVT is a disorder in which a blood clot forms in a deep vein, typically in the legs. Xcept 15mg tablet helps dissolve these clots and prevent new ones from forming, reducing the risk of complications such as pulmonary embolism and post-thrombotic syndrome.
• Treatment of Pulmonary Embolism (PE):
• PE occurs when a blood clot travels to the lungs and blocks blood flow. These tablet helps dissolve these clots, improving blood flow and preventing further complications such as lung damage and heart strain.
• Prophylaxis of Stroke and Systemic Embolism in Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation (AF):
• Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heart rhythm that increases the risk of stroke due to blood clots forming in the heart. Xcept 15mg tablet reduces this risk by preventing the formation of blood clots in the heart, thus lowering the chances of a stroke or systemic embolism.
• Prophylaxis of Atherothrombotic Events Following Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) with Increased Cardiac Biomarkers:
• After an acute coronary syndrome, such as a heart attack, there’s an increased risk of blood clots forming in the arteries. These tablet helps prevent these clots from forming, reducing the risk of further cardiovascular events like heart attacks or strokes.

Xcept tablet Side Effects:

Common side effects of Xcept 15mg tablet include anemia, nausea, headache, dizziness, low blood pressure, localized bleeding, bleeding from the nose or sputum, gastrointestinal upset, fever, swelling, fatigue, renal impairment, and serious skin reactions.

Dosage and Administration:

• Xcept 15mg tablet can be taken with or without meals.
• If there’s any pending surgery, it’s essential to inform the prescriber before starting the medication.
• This medication is not recommended for children.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Xcept 15mg tablet is contraindicated in pregnant or lactating females.
• Patients with renal impairment, cirrhosis, gastrointestinal ulceration, hypertension, or bleeding disorders should inform the prescriber before using this medication.
• Lumbar puncture and spinal anesthesia should be avoided during therapy.

Contraindications:

This medicine is Contraindicated in patients with creatinine clearance <15ml/min, clinically significant active bleeding, liver disease associated with coagulopathy, and hip fracture surgery.
