The 600 mg pills of Ecasil contain Linezolid, a strong antibiotic that is commonly used to treat bacterial illnesses. A kind of antibiotic called linezolid is an oxazolidinone. It works by stopping the start of protein production at the ribosome level by attaching to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Because of how it works, linezolid can kill a wide range of bacteria that cause infections, even ones that are immune to other antibiotics.

• Headache
• Insomnia
• Convulsions
• Dizziness
• Vertigo
• Dermatologic rash
• Pharyngitis
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Nausea
• Generalized and localized abdominal pain

When not to use:

People who are known to be allergic to linezolid or any of the other ingredients in the product should not take it.

Precautions:

Linezolid may interact with certain other medicines to cause side effects such as changes in blood pressure, temperature, or heart rate.

Warnings:

• Treatment with antibacterial agents may alter the normal flora of the colon and permit overgrowth of clostridia, leading to antibiotic-associated colitis.
• Thrombocytopenia has been reported in patients receiving linezolid. Platelet counts should be monitored in patients who are at increased risk for bleeding.
• No overall difference in the safety or effectiveness of linezolid was observed between elderly patients and younger patients.

• For adults, the typical dosage of Linezolid for most infections is 600 mg orally every 12 hours.
