Dosage

The dosage of Depricap capsules varies depending on the patient’s age; however, there are general guidelines for dosage.

Children and Adolescents (ages 8 to 18)

• Starting dose: 10 mg once daily in the morning.
• Maximum dose: Typically 20 mg per day.

Adults

• Starting dose: 20 mg once daily in the morning.
• Dose adjustment: May increase after several weeks if needed.

Elderly

• Starting dose: Lower than usual, as recommended by the doctor.
• Maximum dose: Usually 60 mg per day, but adjustments may be necessary due to sensitivity to medications.

Side effects

The Depricap capsules cause the following side effects:

When not to use

Do not take this medication if:

• You are allergic to it or any of its components.
• You are currently taking or have recently taken thioridazine.
• You are currently taking or have recently taken monoamine oxidase anti-depressants (e.g., phenelzine sulfate, moclobemide).
