Corik-H Tablet Uses

Corik-H tablet is a medication that helps lower blood pressure and decreases the risk of stroke and heart attacks, including:

• Treatment of Hypertension: Corik-H is used to lower blood pressure in adults and children greater than 6 years old. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. 
• Reduction of the Risk of Stroke: It is used to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. 
• Diabetic Nephropathy: This tablet is used for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
• Congestive Heart Failure: It is also used in the treatment of congestive heart failure.
• Reduction of Blood Pressure: The medication works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten, thereby lowering blood pressure.

Corik-H Tablet Dosage:

• The recommended initial dosage for adults is 1 tablet daily, which may be increased to a maximum of 100mg of Losartan daily if necessary.
• It is advised to take Corik-H tablets with or without meals, preferably on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
• It’s important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor.

Corik-H Tablet Side Effects:

Some potential side effects of Corik-H Tablet include anaphylactic reactions, angioedema, vasculitis, hepatitis, cough, anemia, fatigue, musculoskeletal or chest pain, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, hypoglycemia, headache, insomnia, gastrointestinal upset, upper respiratory tract infections, and renal impairment.

Corik-H Tablet Precautions:

Before using Corik-H Tablet, follow these precautions:

• Avoid alcohol and other medications that may increase dizziness or drowsiness while taking Corik-H.
• Monitor blood pressure regularly as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Inform healthcare providers about all medications, supplements, and medical conditions before starting them.
• Use caution when driving or operating machinery, especially when starting this tablet or changing the dosage.
• Avoid sudden changes in body positions to prevent falls, especially during the initial period of treatment.

Contraindications:

Corik-H is contraindicated in individuals who are hypersensitive to Losartan potassium, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other components of the medication.

• It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
• Additionally, Corik-H should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, severe hepatic impairment, or electrolyte imbalances.
